Congratulations to Jason Horned Eagle for being Student Library worker of the
Month
Congratulations to Katherine Anderson, Abigail Miiller, Ike Schumacher, and
Jackson Schumacher for a successful first debate tournament at Sioux Falls
Roosevelt on Saturday. Both Public Forum teams accumulated 104 NFL points. The
Anderson-Miiller team went 3-1 and the Schumacher's were 2-2. Great job!
Debate members who want to compete on Saturday in Aberdeen must see Mrs. Aaker
today. Deadline to register is 4:00 P.M. TODAY
There will be a meeting for all returning boys' basketball players in Mr.
Becker's room TODAY at 4:15 before open gym. All players that played on a high
school team last year that are planning to participate again this year are
required to attend. This includes sophomores and any players who played up a
level last year.
Juniors, you did an excellent job on the magazine sales. We made a greater
profit then we have for several years. Thank you for your fine effort. The
following people were the top sales people and need to stop by my room (Mr.
Kurth - 226) and pick up a prize. Michael Lindbloom, Timmi Lunsford, Jenaleah
Block, Kayla Pochop, Sarah Lihs, Allison Guindon, Sadie Fitzke, Heidi Reiners

10 thru 12 football players will be turning in equipment today at 3:30 p.m. at
the lower field. Fines and detention will start tomorrow.
FBLA Members: Our November meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 10 at 6:30
p.m. Hope to see you all there.
This months character trait is encouraging. Stop in the office to pick up a
form. Deadline is Friday November 27.
There will be a National Honor Society meeting today immediately after school in
the senior lounge. This will be a short meeting. Check in with Mrs. DenOuden if
you will not be present.
Sophomores who are interested in being nominated for the Hugh OBrian (HOBY)
Youth Leadership summer program to be held June 10th - 13th should stop in the
Guidance Office for information and an application. Deadline to apply is Nov.
12th.
There will be a TATU meeting for anyone wishing to work on the Great American
Smoke-Out onTuesday, immediately after school in Mrs. Neiles' room.
P. E. O. STAR SCHOLARSHIP -- $2,500 scholarships to high school senior women
attending an accredited university. The applicant must show excellence in
leadership, extracurricular activities, community service, academics and
potential for future success. Minimum GPA of 3.0. Applications are available in
the Guidance Office. Deadline is NOVEMBER 13.
Seniors who are interested in science and intend to pursue advanced degrees in
math, science, engineering or technology there is an excellent opportunity to
receive a scholarship to spend one month in the summer studying such fields as
physics engineering and geology. The classroom includes locations that span the
globe. See Mrs. DenOuden in the Guidance Office for more information and how to
apply. Deadline is December 18th.
2009.LEGISLATIVE PAGE PROGRAM -- high school seniors interested in serving as a
page, must be sponsored by a SD Legislator or Legislator-elect. After obtaining
sponsorship, the student secures an application form to complete and return to
the Legislative Research Council in Pierre. For more information stop in the
Guidance Office. All applications are due by November 13, 2009.
