Mr. Venner TODAY
The SD Discovery Center just took delivery of the Digitalis - our new digital
planetarium. If you liked the starlab - oh, boy are you going to LOVE the
Digitalis.
We are so eager to show you all the Digitalis can do...but we need to get
trained and we need to train lots of volunteers.
Be one of the first to learn how to run this exciting new technology. You'll be
able to conduct all sorts of programs about astronomy and more. If you love to
talk, you can do the talking. Don't like talking in front of people, maybe you
would like to run one of the "canned" programs.
Dec. 19 from 3:30pm to 6:30pm and Dec. 20 from 8:30am to 11:30pm will be the
first training opportunities. Anyone 9th grade and up is eligible. We expect to
have 1 undergraduate or graduate education credit available. You can come to one
session or both.
Teachers - we hope you will consider coming to see how this might be valuable in
your classroom. . This is a great opportunity for those who love astronomy to
learn more and share your enthusiasm with others.
We hope to train enough volunteers to be able to offer shows to the general
public on weekends.
Please RSVP to Kristiemaher@sd-discovery.com if you have questions. OR, if you
know you will attend, send your name, e-mail, and phone number plus the
session(s) you will participate in.
Students: Don't forget to vote for your friends coloring page. All money is
going for mittens and hats for the little ones!! Merry Christmas Headstart!!
