It is time to elect our new spring student body president and vice president. Any seniors wishing to run need to pick up a petition for Ms Swanson or Mrs. Neiles. Petitions are due January 15. The assembly, speeches, and voting times will be announced later.

Students: There will be open enrollment for the YIP program for the next three weeks. If you are interested in joining, please stop by Mrs. Neiles' room, 305, for a permission slip and January agenda. Enrollments will be taken until January 30th only. When you have decided which programs to join, sign up on the sheet located on the bulletin board in room 305 and I will be in contact with you through email. Thanks, Mrs. Neiles

Friday, Jan 15th Girls' Basketball Game vs Yankton is Paint the Place Pink night. Order your PINK Hoops 4 Hope GBB t-shirt and wear it to the game. The cost of the shirt is $13 all proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society. Girls' basketball players will be taking orders today and Monday 1/11. Support the Lady Govs and the American Cancer Society and order yours today.

The Lady Govs Basketball team will be having their annual Chili Fundraiser Saturday, January 9th at their game against the Huron Tigers. Serving will begin at 4pm and go until halftime of the varsity game. Cost is $3.00.

There will be a planning meeting for the Parent-Senior Party on Monday, January 11, 2010 at 7:00 pm. The meeting will be held at Georgia Morse Middle School cafeteria. All parents of seniors are encouraged to attend.

The Senior Profile forms for the Capital Journal are available in the Guidance Office.

The Marion T. Wood Scholarship is now available. This scholarship is a statewide scholarship for $750 to be awarded to a senior who intends to continue in an office-related business program. Deadline is Feb. 15th. For more information and an application stop in the Guidance Office and see Mrs. DenOuden.

The Pierre/Ft. Pierre Exchange Club Scholarship is available in the rack outside the Guidance Office. This is a $1,000 to a Riggs or Stanley County high school senior who is very active in the school and the community. Deadline for this scholarship is March 17th.

The Kiwanis Educational Foundation Scholarship is due in the Guidance Office on Tuesday, January 12th. This scholarship is for seniors who plan to go to college in Minnesota or the Dakotas. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.
