2007-08 Basketball Season
   ALL STATE SELECTION:  RAPID CITY, S.D. – Senior Polly Gill of the ESD Champion and Class AA runner up Pierre Lady Governors was named to the first team Class AA All State Volleyball team named today by the South Dakota Volleyball Coaches Association. Gill, a 5-8 senior middle hitter, tallied 297 kills, 35 aces, 32 blocks and 230 digs for the Lady Govs, who rang up 25 straight wins, dating from the consolation title


    in last year’s state tournament, before bowing in a five-set thriller to Rapid City Stevens in the “AA” final. Gill was a second team All State selection last year and becomes the very first Pierre player to be named to the First team All State team.. Two other Lady Governors, senior Gina Geffre and sophomore Steph Paluch were named to the second team All State squad. It’s the first time that Pierre has had 3 players named to the All State teams.
